Marketplace labelling without a person in the loop

Commerce · 3 June 2026 · 7 min read

Labelling is not interesting work, which is exactly why it is worth automating first. It is high volume, fully specified, and mistakes are expensive in a boring way.

Fully specified means automatable

Every marketplace publishes exactly what it wants: dimensions, placement, encoding, quantity. There is no judgement involved. When the rules are this explicit, a person in the loop is a liability rather than a safeguard.

The part people get wrong

They automate the printing and leave the counting manual. The count is where the error lives.
